has the iphone 3g been unlocked?

i was looking at iphones on ebay and i saw that there were iphone 3g's that were unlocked for sale. but they were very very pricey, like over $1,500. so has it been unlocked or whats the deal with these ones on ebay? and do you think it will be unlocked if it hasn't already, and will the price go down? how long should i wait to buy one? or should i just go with the old one?

The unlocked iPhones are usually pricey. If you want a good deal, I suggest you can get a locked iPhone and get it permanently unlocked through the remote unlock service from Classicunlocking.com I did that and it was way less costly than buying an unlocked iPhone.
