are we tolerating liars and theives as our politicians, because we are scared to do any thing about it, or have you all been cleverely paid off with a reasonable life style?
what about the rest of the people in the world who are suffering to sustain that quality of life which prevents you from helping those who have nothing?

is this what you call progress, is this the jewel in the crown of your developement as human beings?

Politics (Government) is a position of power, as such, it attracts those seeking power (the corrupt etc...). So basicly, no matter what form of Government you start with, eventually you will get corruption ("Liars, Theives"). Thing is, this is pretty much unaviodable (at least for any length of time). So while it is immportant to fight injustice and stand up for freedom and human rights etc... to some degree, you must tollerate a certain level of this or you will basicly be fighting forever (as soon as you stop, the corrupt will step in). At what level one is willing to fight the Governemnt is an individual choice, there has alway been suffering, and because some people are good and others bad (we all have good and bad in us, to various degrees), thier will likly alwys be. so as an individual, please, do what you can to help others... but i wouldn't judge others to harshly that choose to give thier families and children the best lives they can offer.
As for "Progress", if you take an honest look at history, this really is the way it has always been (not that it justifies anything), just that we haven't "Progressed", we simple exibit human nature, an individual drive to live and thrive.
I have seen first hand the "rest in the world suffering" (been to many third world nations, including Somalia, Rownda to name a few). People don't change much, they too generally look out for themselves. Good and bad everywhere. keep fighting for the Good and Good Luck in your endeuvers.
