Basics of converting songs from Kazaa to iTunes to iPod?

Ok I'm a complete no0b when it comes to this stuff. I just downloaded iTunes and got an iPod. I have a bunch of songs on Kazaa - now how can I transfer all the songs over to iTunes and then to my iPod? Sorry for the dumb question..
also, I've heard there a bunch of free podcasts and such on iTunes. How can I access/download these as well. Thanks!

on itunes go to file add new folder and then find the folder where are your songs are in
but seriously dont use kazaa i used tohave it and it messed my computer up use ares or frostwire
