...Should they be? As you know, there are multiple definitions for each one of these. Those definitions do not uniformly include the supernatural. If the goal is to purge superstition, should these words be exclusively associated with the supernatural in order to get rid of their power in society, or should pro-reason people support non-superstitious definitions in an attempt to make the power of those words work for reason, not just against it?

I should make it clear that the reason why associating these words with the supernatural only would get rid of their power is that such an association would make rational people instinctively recoil from them as superstitious and anti-science.
