Can I use a moto rokr battery in a moto q phone?

I got a moto q yesterday and the life is sooo bad on it and i realized that my old phone...a moto rokr...has the same battery voltage and fits in my q......but my friend said that mixing batteries from a non smartphone to a regular phone and vice versa may damage the phone. is this true?

....i got the q used on ebay...not brand new from the store

No thats not true. What does happen is it makes your 1 year warranty with Motorola null and void. If you just got the Moto Q yesterday take it back to the store and have it switched for a new one. You should still be under a 15-30 day grace period depending on who you get your service from.
