how do you put a website on the internet from a notepad?

Basically www.yourname.com is a domain name whereby you can only get it through registering the name with a domain registar for an annual fee or some website which sometimes hold some promotions giving out 1 free domain to everyone.

Notepad however cant let you write your own domain name as explained above, notepad can help you come up with a website design if you know programming and after completing the coding in notepad, save the file as html file and upload it to your webserver via ftp and your design is visible to everyone.
