I have a att prepaid sim card..?

I have an att prepaid sim card and it is sill in use. I got a new phone. (It is a Shadow from t-mobile,unlocked) I put my sim card in there and turn it on. after a couple of min, i get a message saying that i used 15 cents why is this happing, and how do i get around it

you changed the phone...but not the rate plan.

you have a tmobile phone...but you still have att prepaid service.
