My Gateway laptop won't connect to the internet?

try re entering the correct ip address and gateway etc...
then apply->ok

then restart the system ( although not necessary everytime, but sometimes , it is really needed, even if not demanded by the system)

if nothing goes fine even now,
then change the ip address to whatever u wish,
reinstall network driver,
setup new network connection,
re enter all the ip address and gateway etc...
and restart.

most probably, this will work

at any time,
to check whether it's working fine
check network status
and sent/received status
