Why do file sharing and photo sharing not work in Yahoo Messenger?

I used to be able to share files and photos just fine. Then suddenly it stopped working. If I share a photo with someone, or they with me, they come through pixelated. The thumbnails look good, but the large picture is just a bunch of colored rectangles and unviewable. If someone sends me a file, it just says something like "problem encountered" and stops.

As I said, this suddenly started happening a few months ago, but it's been consistent ever since. I tried updating messenger, but that didn't do anything. I checked the settings on my virus protection, but didn't see anything. My husband says he didn't change any settings.

I have the same problem... I got it to work lastnight but I woke up and it wasn't working anymore...

Unisntall the software through Control Panel and then reinstall it.

I have the same problem, and have had it for a long time, no matter what machine I'm using, whether or not there is a firewall on, etc. I haven't found a solution for it yet, but at least there are other services (not yahoo) available for handling sharing.
