6x9 speakers have only have tweeters mid and bass. that a 3-way?

i seen some with a 5-way. whats the extra two. does it make it louder, or more clearer or wat. please explainto me.

yes that is a 3 way
High Range - trebble
Mid Range - Mid
Low Range - Bass

extra any thing will never change the volume of sound that is determined by the source thats powering the speakers

having extra tweeters, you will notice a destinct clarity as the tweeters are very fine and small cones, they sometimes can not keep up with the volume so having more will distribute it and mayby allow your stereo to go up louder befer you here distortion,
having 6x9" speakers can not go as loud as 6" speakers as 6x9" are designed for a car that has no subwoofer,

if you get a subwoofer i recommend getting 6inch splits as it is a smaller cone and it allows the cone to move up and down with alot more ease, as the subwoofer made for the bass
