"Diskette Drive 0 seek failure"

This message began popping up this morning everytime I start up my pc....at first I would press F1 but a black screen would come up with a blinking cursor...nothing would happen...then I inserted my Vista OS cd, after that I restored it to a point where my pc was working. Now when I press F1 after I see the message, my pc loads up normally....point being if my pc is loading normally, why am I still getting the message above when I turn it on....and what does it mean....thank u..
