HTC? does anyone have one and use the office functions?

I know the blackberry "as is" will only allow one to view documents in excel and word but HTC has edit capability, and i need that. any reviews re reliability, functionality or user friendliness?
I don't want to start messing with the programming beyopnd the features offered. some people tell me you can hack into them but they are $400 if you have to pay for it (like if you void the warranty)
