Will an unlocked phone work on the Sprint Network?

I'm thinking about buying an unlocked phone internationally online, however I want to be sure that it will work with Sprint. Does anyone know if this is possible and if not, which networks unlocked phones work with?

Unfortunately, it will NOT work. When we hear the term UNLOCKED, it only refers to GSM technology. Sprint and Verizon use CDMA technology. GSM is more worldwide, and CDMA is particular to the USA.
Unlocked GSM phones are interchangable between carriers, here in the USA that would be TMobile and ATT/cingular. CDMA phones ARE NOT interchangable. Sprint only uses Sprint and Verizon only uses Verizon.
