    Your son's surgery

When i was 4 or 5 I had to have the same surgery. I kept on peeing every 5 minutes because the hole was too small and all the urine would not come out at once. So they made a bigger slit on my pee hole. Everything went fine and everything is fine today. The only difference is that i have a bigger pee hole then usually other guys. But other then that, my unit looks like a normal penis, it functions just like any other penis and I have had no problems fathering children. So your son will be fine.

He said due to for the body is is not normal not to have the fore skin, so sometimes the whole just is small, it didn't make a whole lot of sense to me ... but basically he said he needed a small surgery to open it up, so they cut a small amount of tissue out to open it up. We where told right now that he is small it would heal fast... about 2 weeks or less and that it was a 10 min procedure and day surgery so he would come home the same day. We where told that we will spend more time in the waiting room than he will in surgery. It makes me sick to my stomach to think my 3 year old needs this, but from what the urologist explained if it is not done he could have pain, blood and urine could not come out as well and later when he is an adult he could have pain going pee, or pain when having relations.

So we talked about it,even though is way scary to us and to our baby, we would feel bad to not do a surgery he needs now, while it is not as painful than not do it and he is an adult and has to have this surgery and then it hurts more and the healing time is way longer. We didn't even know this could happen, but we did notice while we where potty training him it was taking a long time for his pee to come out and I had noticed the little hole was barely there but I did not think that was un normal, after all he is a baby. I even asked the doctor if he thought our son had this because he was born pre mature at 34 weeks, but he said no ,just something that happens and it was very common for boys that have been circumsized. So in short even thought it pains our hearts we are going to let them do the surgery.

    Clipboard The Problem

My brother had the same problem. He had pain while peeing and sometimes peed blood.
Surgery is the only way to rectify this. After surgery, everything became normal for him.
It's most probably caused when the person has a bit of skin lodged in the urethra or penis.

They removed a small piece of skin, and then my brother became alright..

Hi, 13 yr old son is having the surgery this coming Friday, he has been peeing blood and his penis bleeds throughout the day. It takes him forever to pee and its becoming more and more painful. They said it is worse and probably wasn't noticed until he started going through puberty. He was embarrassed to tell anyone he was bleeding. I am praying the recovery is quick and that he doesn't ever have to worry about this again, but I do wonder how it will not close back up when it's healing.

    Our Experience

My son had the corrective surgery for his opening being to small. He was having pain while going to the bathroom, and had to push to pee. The surgery corrected it right away and it's been 6 years with no issues. Recovery time was only about 24 hours and a week of using some cream and about 3 days of just lazing around and resting. Mostly, the anesthesia and coital block was the bigger part of this procedure for him. Waking up, getting feeling back in legs, etc. They do the coital block to numb the penis for the first few hours so when they have the first pee is doesn't feel like they are peeing nails. That's what I was told. Anyway, I know surgery is scary on our children but I would do it again. My son's self estem went sky high. He was like look mom, I can pee like a hose now! I'm like the other boys in the bathroom at school! It works right. He was very happy with the choice.
