do sandisk m2 cards work on sony ericsson or do i have to get sony?

i want and m2 memory stick card for my phone it's a sony errison k770 i want to know if i have to get a sony card or a sandisk or both please tell me

if it is a standard memory format than any brand should do. if it is proprietary sony equipment (which they do sometimes) then only theirs would do. im gonna say if you found a sandisk w/ the same type number that you need, then it will work. only if only sony offered the fitting type would you need theirs.
