My computer speakers dont work?

My computer speakers don't work! One day, I tried to put in my old speakers to see if they work (just testing something) and they didn't. I went to plug in my original speakers back in and now i cant hear anything! It says that my speakers are plugged in and working properly. I went to go and test my head phones and they seem to work. Could it be that my speakers are broken?

it's possible,plug the speakers into another device to see if
they work,if they do then check the computer sound system
to see if anything is muted.
