...the aftermath of nuclear war? I read it in a school library sometime around 1988. To the best of my memory, the first part is about a girl who is locked in a government fallout shelter with her father, who is restocking the shelter when a nuclear attack occurs. The second part of the book deals with the attempt to rebuild society by the decendents of survivors, who have lost almost all knowledge of technology. I do not think it is either "Strange Tomorrow" by Jean Karl or "Children of the Dust" by Louise Lawrence. Any possible suggestions (or even similarly themed books) would be appreciated. Thanks!
