My computers internet is slower than normal. Can someone help?

I have noticed that in the past few days my internet has been slower. Loading pages that usually take just a second or two are taking anywhere from 10-30 seconds. My download speed has gone down also. I would download between 140kb/s and 160kb/s and now it is downloading from about 20-44kb/s. 44 is the highest it will go now.

I have checked the computer for viruses and it removed the few that were there, but the internet was the same.

I have DSL with qwest and my computer is less than 2 years old.

Does your modem/router have wireless capabilities, if so then someone might be using your internet bandwidth.

Here are some other suggestions you might try to investigate, try googling the situation and finding the corrective course of action.

    1) spyware, malware, viruses, trojan
    2) Bandwidth exploit (wireless) or maybe internet sharing?
    3) Poor quality of service (ISP)
    4) Peer-to-Peer (P2P) network downloading
    5) poor cable connection, (check cable pluggings, replug them) could cause poor DSL signal

    Try do the following instructions
    1.Get a download accelerator
2.Turn off all unused apps while downloading
3.Don't upload information while you're downloading
    4.Update your network device driver
5.clear your temporary download history files.
6.Use latest version of any browser
When i had the same problem,i followed the same ways.I am sure,it's very useful to increase your, both upload and download speed. Then you can check your new internet speed using ScanmySpeed.com
