    How to change the message tone on a Samsung j700?

    I have been told by reviews and even the shop that you can have mp3 message tones. however i cannot seem to change the message tone, I dont mind if I cant have mp3 message tones but how do I change the message tone? thanks x
    I know you can do it im not sure how :/

    HOW? can you chnage the tone?

    you can't. i think samsung's disable that feature

    I am positive that you cannot do it,
    ive read about it in many places,

    ive had samsung mobiles for years,you can only have the tones set on the phone for your messages...

    HOORAY. TO CHANGE the MESSAGE ALERT TONE.

    - Menu.
    - Settings.
    - Phone settings.
    - Phone profiles.
    - Select (highlight) the one you want &.
    - Select OPTIONS with the left soft key.
    - Click Edit (1).
    - Use the directional key (right) to highlight the New Messages.
    - Scroll down to Message Alert.
    - Left soft key OPTIONS & select edit (as above).

    - Then click the directional key until you hit either Downloaded Music or sounds (depending on where you stored your sound file).
    - Select your file.
    - Left soft key & select SAVE.
    - Then that's it, done!

    I imagine you can only have .mid files for this message tone? I can't seem to find .mp3 files when navigating to it the way you explained .

    it's even worse, I can only find the sys files.. how to override this?

    Not sure what you are doing wrong, but can confirm that mp3 format is allowed for the message tone -have just set it on my phone.

    Hopefully someone will be able to help a little more.

    After some more lookin into it, I found out I can only see the "sys" tones. I can't see the files I've put on the phone. It's kinda annoying me..

    I hope someone is able to help!
