and Yorkshire? I'm just wondering why Lancashire and Yorkshire have well-established cricket teams, and games at Old Trafford and Headingley can attract large crowds, whilst in the Liverpool/Merseyside area there is not an established county team.
I know that lots of counties don't have County Championship teams, but Liverpool's roughly the same size as Manchester and bigger than Leeds, so you might expect them to have one.
Is this because cricket is unpopular in Liverpool/Merseyside, and if so, does anyone know the reason(s) why?

Thanks in advance for any answers.
