I have a maltese girl 6 months and she is not fixed, I noticed how much people talk of getting them fixed, however I had not planned to. Me and her stay home together all day, I'm always with her and we have a small enclosed yard (althought she usually sticks to around the door and doesnt even travel to the fence end's) I KNOW she will not be around any males. I had no intentions of getting her fixed, but I was wondering (here's the question finally) are there any other health reasons as to why they should be neutered other than getting pregnant?

ok thanks, and no I had not FULLY decided, I was debating, I had not orginially wanted to.. mainly because shes I'm guessing almost done growing, and she weighs 5 pounds, but shes a lil chubby already, she LOVES food and will eat as much as you will feed her. I have heard that a lot of spayed dogs gain weight and I don't want her to be unhealthily obese..but I do not want her to get cancer =[
