at orination i signed a company policy not to use the internet for personal use.

Good luck with that. Particularly if you used the internet for personal use while you were supposed to be working, that is not much different than stealing.

Then you have no appeal rights. you signed "em away from the time your signature hit the document.

Well if you used the Internet for personal use after signing a statement saying you wouldn't, than there is nothing to be done. If you dispute the fact that you were indeed using the Internet for personal things, I would approach the HR director and see what can be done.

I suppose it depends on what kind of personal use you used it for and whether it was during your lunch or working hours. If you were surfing for another job or looking at porn. I think there's nothing you can do about it. I also think you would deserve to be fired for it.
If you were on lunch and shopping, checking email or bank balance, you could appeal based on the fact you were using it on your own time.
However, you did sign an agreement not to use it for personal reasons.
I think company's are going over the top about this issue by the way. People will find some way to waste time, if it's not the internet it will be more chatting, day dreaming, longer potty breaks, etc.

you cant appeal that!!! I mean you could but why would you? You knew better, everyone knows better than to use company internet for personal use. someone was fired from my work for doing that very same thing , they were given ample chances to not do that but continued to anyways, now they no longer work where i do. why would you do that if they asked u not to? were you given a warning? verbal? were you written up for it atleast twice? if not perhaps you can appeal on the grounds that they didnt give you warnings. I would just move on. find another job and stay off the companys internet if you're going to be using it for personal use.

All you can do is write your management an e-mail, or call one of your managers on the phone and ask for a break. It might not help, but it can't hurt to try.
