    Do I need DivX?

    I use VLC media player to play all media files. My question is, do I still need DivX content uploader or player?

    No, VLC is perfectly fine!
    It supports all known video formats

    as long as you have the divx codec with it, then no you don't. If all your videos play perfectly fine, then I would stick with VLC.
