Is it fair or is it men whining now that Danica won a race?

Danica Patrick, all 100 pounds of her entered 50 Indy car races and she finally won one. And at the same time the men are complaining that her light weight gives her an advantage so the Indy Racing Association has put a drive weight standard into the mess. Is this fair or is it men whining? Is there some rule that says men can not lose weight? Or is it they are just all fat slugs and too lazy to lose weight so take it out on Danica? Wouldn't it be better if they put a weight limit on the car AND driver combined? Is what the IRL doing fair or not?

The Indy Racing League has a weight rule which caused some controversy earlier-including Danica's own comments-which some deem unfair. I'm not entirely sure what the rule is, but you can check it on indycar.com.

Bottom line: Danica Patrick broke her duck. It's good for her, good for the IRL and good for open-wheel racing in North America. Stop the whining.

It is not a rule yet, there have just been talks of putting it in place. I do not believe it would be a fair rule by any means. Unlike many (NOT all) other women in motorsports, Danica is competitive. She is indeed a threat to win races and a threat to the men in the sport who are afraid she will steal their thunder. If they are going to try to enforce such a rule, it should be across the board - ALL cars and drivers, combined, should weigh the same. This is easily accomplished with the use of ballast weights, as is used in NASCAR to keep all of the cars the same weight. I just don't see the IRL putting a rule in place that would eliminate their most recognizable and most marketable figure. That would be shooting themselves in the feet.
