It's better because of the freedom of no wires running everywhere. You internet speed remains the same as a wired connection and you can acces the internet from almost anywhere.

i dont have a wireless router but i have a wireless internet connected by a ethernet cable.
It depends. Wireless is nice for a laptop that you might use in different areas around your house but if your using a desktop then go with DSL or cable because of a faster more consistent speed and it's more secure than wireless. We have a wireless connected laptop where I work and the speeds vary drastically though out the day so I'm not at all sold on wireless.
yes is some way it is
1. u can be any where in the house and use it
2. no cable
Not good
1. there are hackers
2. the more far away u are from the modem the less speed
3. cost more
4. and cable is easy to fix if u have problems
Yes
No, due to the simple fact that it isn't available in all areas, its speed is much lower than cable and you won't get as much downloads for the monthly fee.
It depends if you take your laptop around places where you can't connect to a network, etc.
Hope that cleared things up, Good luck!
OH YES - I just got it and it is wonderful. We actually got the lowest wireless speed ($29.95) per month and it works great.
If you do get the wireless be sure and set it up with a password so that your neighbors cannot tapped into - that will make it run slower.
You Internet provider can tell you how to password it.
I see all these negative comments above - and I can tell you I think it is the best thing since "sliced bread" -
Cable and Wireless can run at the same speed - just gives you more freedom around the house - especially if you have a laptop. Either way I wouldn't trade the wireless for anything.
You can get a wireless router at Best Buy and install yourself - that is what we did.
Good Luck
