How does bluetooth work on acer aspire 7720?

i have a bluetooth button the on the keypad of the laptop but when i press it, it says no bluetooth device, on the acer website it says this model has bluetooth, i have a usb bluetooth dongle and just installed that but i still get the same message and hasnt got many features, and its different software to the original laptop software.

Please help!

all you need to do is get a blutooth "dongle" which you can plug into the USB port of ur laptop and then it should work

i too have the same specific question.
acer aspire 7720G has a bluetooth switch, i got a bluetooth dongle (usb) plugged in.
want to associate the bt dongle with the bt switch.
p.s. the drivers dont load up as well.
just flashed to the latest bios and still having the same issue.
any help will be most appretiated.

It appears that the Acer Aspire 7720 series of laptops "can" have bluetooth built in, but the BT button only enables the Acer Bluetooth device.... NOT any other devices.

The only place I have found said Bluetooth module for is:-
Acer Aspire / TravelMate / Extensa / Ferrari Bluetooth module (2.0 + EDR) - $49.95*USD : Notebook Solutions, Parts, Service & Support

But at £35 is it really worth it........

I would "like" to have bluetooth on my 7720G, but I think I can live without it.
