Sony Ericsson Xperia play flex cable Repair Help?

I know I need A Flex cable for the phone, I need to know If I need the screen digitizer replaced If I can clearly see the LCD and The touch screen is still working (i.e. I can answer calls and play music by remembering where things are located on the phone and using the touch screen to use apps)
I just need to know so I can purchase what I need.
