Way back in 2003, the folks at the General brought a concept car to the Frankfurt Auto Show called the Opel Insignia. Built on the Fiat-shared "Premium" platform, the Insignia was billed as "an ambassador of Opel's new confidence." Yup, it ended up as an ambassador they never ended up using on a platform receiving a similar fate. But based on these spy shots, there's an Opel in the pipeline that will share design cues with the 2003 Insignia concept. Its underpinnings will likely be GM's new global Epsilon II platform.
