Patrick Kane extended his Chicago Blackhawks franchise record point streak and recorded his 600th NHL point with an empty-net goal during a 4-1 win over the Nashville Predators.
As soon as the third period began and Teuvo Teravainen extended the lead to 3-1, thoughts immediately wandered to an empty-net chance being the reason Kane keeps his streak alive. With 1:36 remaining in the third, he got his chance and buried it from just inside the neutral zone.*
In 604 career NHL games, Kane now has 600 points, which puts him sixth overall in points per game (.993) among active players. Over the course of this 23-game streak he has 14 goals and 37 points, helping him to the top of the NHL scoring race and many early ballots for the Hart Trophy.
