Why does my DVD player have an HDMI input?

    Hi guys

I bought a very basic dvd player, it's not a blue ray HD player. I needed one urgently and saw the HDMI logo on it and didn't investigate properly. Only afterwards did I see that it only appears to have an HDMI input, no output. I was just wondering if someone can explain what this is for?

    (It is an AIM ADVD606)

HDMI jack at the input and output are the same shape and size..
Maybe you should check the label of the port? It should be an output HDMI port

A DVD player is an output-only device, so it wouldn't have any inputs. This will work with your HDMI input on your TV. The player will up-convert the DVD signal.
