How to unlock sony ericsson xperia play r800i from my network provider?

I own a sony ericsson xperia play r800i and want to unlock it from vodafone. i live in ireland. Vodafone will not give me the code as i have not topped up by enough(EUR127 in the last 6 months). Is there any way I can do this myself? Is there a free software that unlocks phones? I want to do it for free, if possible. I tried using fast-gsm.com and didn't work. Any answers will be greatly appreciated.
