How soon do Army Crypto Linguists get deployed after AIT, where do they usually go

and how often? my boyfriend recently graduated from BCT at fort jackson, sc and is going to be in california for his AIT to become a crypto linguist. i know he will be there for at least 1 year or more for school but what should i expect after he graduates AIT?
 
And after DLI in California he will got to Texas to learn his actual job. So he is looking at at least another 14-18 months before he is stationed in a unit.

He will deploy when and if his unit deploys. We don't deploy MOS or individuals. We deploy units.

Edit:

Semantics Arch...14-18 months including DLI

And a deploying "element" has a UIC...which makes it a unit. Be it MI section, an Infantry platoon doing VIP security, or a 3 man Logistics element, etc
