Will crypto currencies like Bitcoin permanently neuter the power of the state?

They can be anonymous and cross borders easily with speed. The government can regulate it out of existence because they will just go underground or thrive somewhere else in the world like South America or Africa.

    They can't be taxes either!

No while bitcoin is getting more and more popular it won't be taking over currencies like the dollar or the pound anytime soon because only a small percentage of the population will use it.

Those of use using bitcoin won't put a dent into the state but I guess we potentially have a little more freedom to do thing like buy things form over seas

plus the government still has it's military might.

The state's power is being neutered everyday by technology. It is inevitable.
