I have always been into photography i have had a 20mm Cannon for the last 16 years and it finally crapped out on me. I don't know much about digital but am wanting to get one. I am trying to stay around 700 dollars. I am currently looking at the "Canon EOS Rebel T3i 18MP Digital SLR Camera w/ EF-S 18-55mm IS II Lens Kit" but i don't know if that's the best i can get for my money.

Being a Canon user and loyalist I recommend only one brand - Canon. The t3i is an excellent camera.
