How come I cannot delete apps from iPad?

I am an experienced iOS user, but over the past month, I have not been able to delete any of the apps on my iPad (3rd gen). I have the latest build of iOS 6 and have not changed any of the settings. When I long press on the icon I wish to delete, it just jiggles, but does not give me the prompt to delete it. If keeps jiggling, then the device restarts itself. Does anyone know how to solve this problem? Thanks.
 
Okay well I think I know what your problem is. If you are trying to delete an app that originally came on the iPad then you will not be able to do so. If you have personally downloaded an app then you should hold the app until it jiggles and hit the red line that appears in the left corner. If the device restarts like you say it does try it a couple more times and if it still doesn't work then you should take it to the apple store!
