Does anyone know where I can find high-resolution kanji (JPEG, GIF, ect.) on the web that I can put on a wall scroll???
i think about.com have a "50 popular kanji" (with a lot more than that) list.
Chances are if it's on the web and it's hi-rez (300 ppi or above) then it's not going to be a JPG or a GIF. Both are compression formats that result in loss of image quality.
Might get a decent GIF if it's plain black on a white background or something. I think.
Why not just buy a scroll and get something written?
My dojo has access to the neccessary equipment to do this for little cost compared to having someone else do it - I'm gonna try to keep it that way.
err... that's IF you find one that is hi-rez online.
Seriously - it's not all that expensive to get one done by a professional calligrapher who knows what he's doing.
Seems like the wrong place to be trying to save money... but hey suit yourself.
