LOL... well I know what it feels like to shave without foam/gel... and certainly in the morning when you're in a rush it can get quite ugly. But I also use the Mach 3...

So you're with the Taliban right ???

    Shaving

I don't want to sound like an avon lady here but you may find that post shaving treatment could be the key here. I personally don't have too much of the five o'clock shadow thing going on but as my fiance used to work for a cosmetics company I have a plethora of facial treatments that I am forced to use. Good treatments will not make your hair grow slower but they may make it easier to shave by making it (the hair) softer and your skin more pliable overall. Things like a good facial soap (no fragrances), a toner (almost like rubbing alcohol), an aftershave and a moisturiser. (I think I'm starting to sound like Christian Bale from American Psycho).

Anyway, it may seem a little bit girly but it can help alot overall when shaving.

Your other option is getting a shaving blade as they gove the closest shave of anything.

    Shaving

I always use an after-shave lotion with little
or no alcohol because alcohol dries your face out and makes
you look older. Then moisturizer, then an anti-aging eye

balm, followed by a final moisturizing "protective" lotion...

    Shaving

My tournament sponsor is a shaving company so I get lots of freebies. Anyway, I wet my beard in the shower, then use my companies lotion and shave in a nice hot shower. Then I use an alcohol free aftershave so as not to dry my skin. No one gets close enough to me to notice but at least I feel good about myself.

    LOL!

Seriously... if you want a close clean shave.. learn how to use a straight razor (with safety guard in place) and shaving cream. You can usually buy the straight razor with a leather strap for sharpening and the things last forever.

When you add up what you pay every year for disposable razors... you could have taken a holiday somewhere.

It's not rocket science and just consider it your introduction to sword arts!
