I would like to replace the engine of my Corsa (petrol) with a more fuel efficient diesel engine. Please let me know which car's shall be best suited or if there is any better idea.

This is completely uneconomic. You need to change a load of stuff and get the electronics working. Sell the petrol car and buy a diesel.
