I'm a 17 year old guy and I want to buy a Sport bike. Aka like a kawasaki ninja or something. That was just an example of what kind of bike. Anyways. Cars cost way to much for my use of one. Which is just commuting, social, work, school. Just your average city driving. I looked around the internet and people avereged around 750$-1500$ a year. But I talked to some of my friends and they said it would cost more than a car. Around 3500-4000$ a year. Plus it would be a 500cc because i'm a big guy.

As you're about to learn average amounts in insurance mean nothing.

The only company that is going to consider insuring you is the Facility Association, which is the insurer of last resort in Ontario. For a 500cc motorcycle you should be prepared to $5,000 a year for basic coverage. Facility doesn't offer any payment plans for motorcycle policies so you'd have to be prepared to pay the entire amount at the time of application.

Insurance is based on your age, where you live, married or not, how far you drive, driving record, sex, and how much coverage you want.
