New Zealand Police Select Wynyard Investigator

Wynyard Group has secured a contract with the New Zealand Police for Wynyard’s serious crime investigations software.Wynyard Investigator is used internationally by more than 50 agencies ranging from the Australian Federal Police to specialist operations in the United Kingdom and multi-nation crime task forces in Asia.
The initial term of Wynyard’s contract with New Zealand Police is five years with renewal provisions for a further 10 years.
New Zealand Police Deputy Commissioner Operations, Mike Bush, said keeping up to date with the latest and most advanced technology to prevent crime in today’s rapidly changing world is critical.
“Wynyard Investigator will be implemented across New Zealand Police serious crime investigations including cyber-crime, asset recovery and other specialist policing areas, contributing to our Prevention First and crime reduction targets.
“In addition to an advanced software solution that will support modern policing practices for more than 11,000 staff, we also gain direct access to Wynyard’s New Zealand-based crime science research and development resources to ensure we continue to have the very best tools available.”
Wynyard Group Managing Director, Craig Richardson, said the relationship with New Zealand Police would extend beyond the provision of Wynyard’s Investigations software.
“We develop privileged, long-term relationships with our customers by delivering on our promise of confidentiality, innovation and technology that help organisations tackle problems growing in complexity, scale and impact. We are proud to now include New Zealand Police alongside our other international government customers,” said Richardson.
Wynyard’s crime science research, software development and product commercialisation capability has been built over more than 20 years, bringing together industry experts, data scientists and advanced software engineering teams to solve problems for government and commercial enterprises alike.
Wynyard Investigator is developed at the company’s global Crime Science Research and Development Centre in New Zealand together with three other advanced tools for threat assessment, intelligence and digital forensics.
