Will my cheap mountain bike go over a curb?

so my mom got me a cheap Nakamura mountain bike so I dont have to walk to school as i live a 20 minute walking distance away. to get to my school there is a pathway that starts with a curb and i was wondering if id have to go around the curb to a lower part of the ground or if my bike can handle going up it. I am too scared to try and i dont want to embarrass myself while trying LOL. also i dont really want to learn how to "bunnyhop" or whatever over it.... tricks are just no for me. very likely to hurt myself haha. just for the record, i got into a lot of accidents biking as a kid and am pretty scared of biking now but im always late for school so i need this LOL thanks!
