Downloading torrents on Mac using Transmission and Bittorrent... download...

...won't start.? I downloaded both Bittorrent, and the client Transmission to my Mac laptop. I used The Pirate Bay site and clicked "get this torrent". In the past, on Windows i have always used this method for downloading torrents. However, since doing this using the Mac, after clicking "launch app" to start the download... nothing happens. i checked the transmission folder and Bittorrent. My torrent hasn't started downloading. Does anyone know why it isn't working?
