My dog was spayed a week ago. Can i put antiseptic liquid on his stitches?

My puppy got spayed a week ago from today.
i'm worried it might be infected because a bit of dried blood appeared again the next time i checked it.
is it ok to be putting Betadine (antiseptic liquid) on his stitches?
I know the vet said not to bathe him because the liquid might seep into the stitches- would this apply to the betadine too?

A lot of sources online have said it's ok- i just wanted to double check.

Him ? A male is castrated and a female is spayed...

Yes it will be ok to put betadine on the stitches, however it is more important to keep him quiet and calm and also prevent him from licking at the stitches. This is the most important thing.
