WHAT GOOD THING HAS ATHEISTS/ATHEISM DONE FOR THE WORLD??

Not to attack, but some of the Christians you mentioned weren't particularly good people...most notably Dr. Jerry Falwell.

And for the record, George Washington voted against rebellion against the King of England. He wanted to keep going with diplomacy. And also for the record, Romans 13:1-7 strongly suggests that not rebelling was the right course, and that the other Founding Fathers of the United States should have said the same thing. Especially when you consider that they were rebelling over a 2% tax hike (all the different taxes together only added up to a 2% tax hike), and those taxes were being levied to help pay for the defense of the colonies during the French and Indian War...which the British government had the right to ask for since they had spent so much money and equipment and had lost so many soldiers defending the colonies. That defense don't come cheap.

Edit:

However, these Atheists who keep insisting that no one has ever killed in the name of Atheism should actually pay attention to some of your list. Josef Stalin killed many people in the name of Atheism, and he was not the only Atheist to do so.

You don't seem to realize that a number of people listed in your cherry-picked 'Christians' list weren't christians at all. Thomas Jefferson clearly was not.
.
Maybe atheists should start our own biased list? Or maybe we have more integrity than you do. Hmmm. I wonder how many owners of slave ships were Christians?
.
EDIT: Again, it's hard to know what you seem to think this proves. Even if everything you say is 100% true, it does nothing to prove the existence of gods. And Theodore Roosevelt--the only person in world history to use atomic weapons against civilian populations.
.

Stop posting the same crap over and over again. You are putting forward a rather biased argument and only chose the worst of the worst people (half of which were actually religious and NO ONE ever killed "in the name of atheism"). Hopefully the non-religious doctors one day cut your life support, I'm sure your family will be more then willing to do so too :)

Hitler wasn't an Atheist. He was a Christian. "By fighting off the Jews, I am doing the Lords work." - Hitler

No Atheists have ever killed in the name of Atheism. No Atheists formed a group and said, 'God doesn't exist! Therefore I must kill people!"

Christians, however, have killed millions and started wars in the name of their God.

You don't know anything about History, do you? But I won't spend my time informing you, before it's obvious you're just a troll.

Nothing like a totally fair and unbiased comparison, eh.

BTW, Thomas Jefferson was more a deist, so you can strike him off your Christian list.
Abraham Lincoln never shared his religious beliefs, so you can strike him off your list too.

Jerry Falwell tried to blame the 9/11 attacks on gays and abortionists, saying that America probably deserved the attacks. What a C@nt!

funny, to bad several of your christan's where atheist and several of your atheists where in fact christan. to busy trying to prove a point and not smart enough to do any research.

Oh please.

Name one war that was not started or sustained by some religious fervor.

Go:

That has nothing to do with atheism and everything to do with their politics and being in a dictatorship.

Hitler: "I believe that I am acting in accordance with the will of the Almighty Creator: by defending myself against the Jew, I am fighting for the work of the Lord.."

Here is a Christian for you and people are calling for her to be made a saint... Mother Theresa.

Well, we sure would win the fight lol, ps the popes killed more people than anyone... ever, ps the popes killed women for being smart, at least Hitler killed stupid week people.

Look, I've already figured out that none of that has anything to do with whether a God thingy actually exists, or not. Why haven't you? What is wrong with you that you don't understand that basic fact?

First of all, your list does not somehow prove that theism is correct. Where was your omni-benevolent God when all these horrible people were murdering others?

Second, Hitler wasn't an atheist. Read his own book. Listing Hitler as an atheist is, sadly, a recyclable claim. If you don't do the research, you'll look like a fool (as you do now).

Third, you decided to leave off people from your first list, but that's okay.

Fourth, I'd argue that the Christian God is an agent of divine evil. God promotes the maximal amount of suffering, an infinite amount, in fact, by imposing pain and suffering (infinite in intensity and in amount) in hell.

I'm Christian and your argument is retarded my friend. You cannot just take the best of one group and compare it to the worst of another. For instance the Crusades were commanded by the Pope but you failed to mention him. also #yolo
