question about verizon internet?

I have already paid my bill for the month (april 9 - may 9). If I were to cancel service now, would I still have internet up until may 9th? I ask this because when I call verizon, a machine answers and lets you manage your account by "press 1 for x" or "press 2 for y" etc...
