How do you extract nicotine from electronic cigarettes?

I'm relatively new to the world of e-cigs and got the cherry cola flavour for mine that I ordered today, not realising until I looked at the bottle that it contains 18mg of nicotine. *I'm trying not to form a habit* and want the nicotine OUT of the solution. I've read some forums about this subject matter and I've read that things like distilled water can help dilute nicotine from e-liquids. I really want to try this flavour, but *I don't want the nicotine.* I don't need it to relax anyway; I have my own methods of doing that.

There is no way to separate the nicotine from the liquid unless you have an advanced degree in chemistry and have a full lab set up to perform the necessary reactions. Even if you could do this, you would know that the chemisrty involved would lead the carrier liquid totally spent and dirty. You would quickly also find out the cost of carrying on these chemical reactions to be in excess of the cost of replacing the bottle to begin with.
