I have a 2001 Ford Focus, it's in good condition, and it well taken care of. Has 143XXX miles on it. I live in Wisconsin, and my dad lives in West Virgina, I want to go visit him.. he said he'd reemburst me for my gas.. so yes, i'm going to take him up on that offer! Is my car going to be okay for a 12 hour drive straight? He has a brand new 2013 truck, which is why he is able to endure the long drives.. but my car is obviously older. I'm just worried that it will breakdown or have an other sort of problems. I was obviously going to take pit stops for an hour or so for each break to get food and to fill up and such, so it doesn't over heat or whatever. But if it is going to be to risky, then i don't want to take the risk..

What do you fellow car people think? Any pointers? Thanks!

If it's well maintained you should have no problem at all but to be sure check all your fluids, a few suspension points, your tires, brakes, and you should be in good shape if your not mechanically inclined take it in for an inspection.
