Guys and PDA-- are some guys just not big in to PDA?

I went out on a date today with a guy I've been with plenty of times. Usually I'm the one to initiate PDA and he will then reciprocate but he's more affectionate behind closed doors. He's the type to keep to himself when it comes to telling people things but he tells me a lot. In regards to PDA, is this a sign he doesn't like me a lot? Would he be more affectionate in public if he liked me a lot or is this jist how he is? Thanks!!

I AM A GIRL and I dislike PDA, MY BOYFRIEND also dislikes it. I feel uncomfortable when people PDA a lot around me and I don't want anyone feeling uncomfortable by me and him also. I like keeping it to ourselves, it feels more special in my opinion than, having the whole world know. Besides, since people don't see us, they have no reason to say mean comments or criticize us. He probably likes keeping it between you guys, that makes it more special.
