    why do I need a wireless lan adapter for my blue ray dvd player?

    to get internet on my tv

    Assuming that you are using your blu ray playe to deliver the internet connent, you must have a wireless lan adapter (or a hard wired connection if your router happens to be next to your blu ray player) because internet connected devices, like blu ray players, must be able to communicate to the outside world in order to deliver the web content or video that you want. Without the connection, you will only be able to play videos off of disks or usb devices (may vary depending on model).
