This started happening when my nephew threw it on the ground hard. Ever since it stop working, when I plug it into the PS3 it starts blinking red constantly. I tried to let it change for about a hour, but when I hold the power button down but still it doesn't turn on.

Sounds like it's been damaged. If you can't get it working, you just may need to get a new one.
